IMG_0110.jpgYoung Adult Ministry seeks to support people aged 18-35 in meeting their needs for spirituality, fellowship and meaning.  Young adults face many life challenges as they transition from high school to college or work, military service, or other service work.  Some of those challenges include:
• Moving away from home for the first time
• Starting an education, career or family
• Managing new financial responsibilities
• Frequent transitions for school or work
• Searching for a partner and a spiritual home

At UUCW, we are developing our Young Adult Ministry through the work of our Youth and Young Adult Visioning Task Force which is part of our Religious Education Council.  For more information, contact Maria O’Connor, Director of Religious Education, or Nic Cable, Youth and Young Adult Visioning Task Force Chair.

Youth and Young Adult Visioning Task Force (YAYA)

UUCW’s Youth and Young Adult Visioning Task Force (YAYA) is meeting and planning to help close the “gap” in ministry with adults aged 18-35 that opens when youth graduate from our religious education program.   Our aim is to develop ministries and programs that nurture the development of young adults as Unitarian Universalist citizens in a changing world – whether they are youth who grew up in our church and UU movement, or young adults raised in other faiths (or without a formal religious background) who seek to find a spiritual home with us.

The immediate goals of the YAYA task force are to reflect upon and understand the UUA reports on Youth and Young Adult Ministries and to create a Mentoring program for our youth as they bridge to young adults.  For more information, contact Nic Cable, Chair.
