Social Action Campaigns Keep Common Ground Busy This Summer
Common Ground is keeping busy working on both a Jobs Campaign and the Do Not Stand Idly By campaign to reduce gun violence. Several of our members are active in these campaigns, and we always welcome you to join us. The Jobs Campaign is researching people’s experiences with temporary employment and difficulty finding permanent work. Contact us if you have a story to share.
The Do Not Stand Idly By campaign is seeking to pressure gun manufacturers to invest in developing safer guns and to stop doing business with dealers who are responsible for the majority of guns retrieved at crime scenes. This campaign does not seek to take away the right to own a gun. One way to apply pressure is to look at investments in gun manufacturers. We are asking anyone who is part of the Wisconsin Retirement System to take a survey at https://tinyurl.com/cgbuild.
