Oversees the appropriate investment of the church’s endowment funds and administers grants derived from those investments. This is an elected position at the Annual Meeting of the congregation. A detailed description of this committee is recorded in the Church Bylaws under section X.B.2.
The Endowment Fund Committee works with the church’s financial advisors to manage the endowment funds (roughly $500K, depending on the market) as well as oversees the process for granting the income from the Fund to help achieve the long-term goals of the church. People on the committee need not be financial specialists, but they should be comfortable dealing with large sums of money, and thinking on very long planning horizons. Currently the Committee meets once per month.
