Committees & Teams
Goal of Position
Participate in 10 to 12 monthly committee meetings yearly, to review financial statements, assist in the development of the annual pledge drive goal and church operating budget for the next fiscal year.
The committee reviews and approves all fund raising activities addressed to UUCW members by any church committee or group.
It maintains an annual fund raising calendar.
The committee engages the financial institution(s) that provide financial services to the church, as well as an auditor to complete a review of the church’s books.
Most financial policies are developed or approved in coordination with the elected church Treasurer, whom presently serves on the committee, and then referred on to the BOT.
Various issues have been referred to the committee by the BOT or the auditor or the Treasurer.
Length of Commitment: One year
Estimated Total Hours: 15 to 20, annually
Scheduling: Presently the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month, at 6:30 PM.
Comfort with reading financial statements is helpful. Skills in the art of “Give and Take” as the committee wrestles with various issues is valuable. Some familiarity with various activities in the church is helpful too.
Board of Trustees
This is a great way to get an inside look at how the church functions and what goes on with in the various committees, without having to commit an inordinate amount of time. As always, the people are wonderful to work with.
