Personnel Committee


Goal of Position

Create and maintain personnel policies and guidelines. Provide assistance to the UUCW Executive Team, Board of Trustees and staff in resolving personnel issues/problems as they occur.

Sample Activities

  • Provide guidance and advice to employees, staff, supervisors and committees.
  • Develop policies and procedures, maintain same.


  • Length of Commitment: Minimum of two – three years.
  • Estimated Total Hours: At least one committee meeting per month, sometimes two, each meeting runs approximately two hours. When recruiting action is in process, time commitment will require additional time commitment.
  • Scheduling: Monthly meetings plus other meetings as needed.


  • Must be a member of UUCW for at least one year.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Good understanding of interpersonal relationships.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures for an organization.
  • Some understanding of regulatory/compliance issues in general.

Reports to: Board of Trustees


  • Gain a greater understanding of UUCW’s organizational structure.
  • Help develop personnel policies that support fair employment practices.
  • Work as a team member to accomplish personnel goals.
