UUCW is committed to caring for the Earth through strategies like simple living, and “reduce, reuse, recycle, repair.” Inspired by the seventh UU principle of “respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part,” UUCW promotes “green practices” in all we do.
Church communications can be a great opportunity to put these practices in place. How members choose to receive church news, announcements, and updates can have a great impact on our environment… and budget. Standard mailings use precious resources (paper, ink, envelopes, postage, etc.) as well as production time assembling all the components.
The recent efforts of dedicated volunteers and staff have improved our paperless communications. You can have your church financial statements be sent to you via email or get the West Wind Newsletter emailed to you as soon as it is assembled. You could also receive text messages that would let you know about cancellations due to bad weather.
There will be an opportunity to update your church communication preferences by completing a brief survey. A Communication Table will be set up in the Community Room on Sunday, May 20 after both services. A volunteer will be available to assist you and answer any questions. For more information, contact the church office.
