Nourishing Community, Creating Sustainability

A Family-Friendly Festival of Learning and Action on Food and Environmental Justice

Nourishing Community, Creating Sustainability is a family-friendly Festival of Learning and Action on October 1 and 2, and you're invited to join with 200-400 people of all ages from across the Milwaukee and suburban area to learn about the relationship between the food we eat and the environment we share with all living things. We’ll also explore the social and economic impact our food choices have on human communities that experience poverty and oppression. A highlight of the Festival will be the keynote presentation by Anna Lappé, author of “Diet for a Hot Planet: The Climate Crisis at the End of Your Fork and What You Can Do About It” (2010).

Nicaragua Brigades Noted in UU World Magazine

Unitarian Universalist Church West has sent almost 100 people to build houses in Nicaragua over the past seven years.

In September we will support Walnut Way Conservation Corporation, a resident-led, community development organization serving the Milwaukee Central City neighborhood.

Next Child Dedication is November 7, 2010; 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Unitarian Universalists believe that every child brings new hope into the world. Our Ceremony of Child Dedication is an opportunity for our church community to bless the children who are new among us, and dedicate ourselves to aiding their families in their nurture and religious growth. When we dedicate our children, we honor the truth that each child's life is sacred.
