"Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live" is a quote misattributed to Sister Elizabeth Ann Seton. But no matter who said it, it holds a powerful lesson for us. Is it possible for us to live with minimal dependence on material things and a maximal interdependence upon each other? What would this take? Who needs to do it-is it an issue of privilege? If we change out personal behavior, will it help stem the overwhelming tide of climate change? We consider a radical reorientation of our attitude towards all human beings and all living things today.
