Over the past several months the Board has been steeped in the process of learning as much as possible about ministerial transitions, especially transitions that occur following a long-time Settled Minister. We’ve been listening, individually and through group processes, to your thoughts, hopes, dreams, and your concerns. Many thanks to everyone who has shared so openly with one another and with each of us on the Board. Our process has also involved consultation with our UUA partners in the UUA Regional Office and the UUA Transitions Office.

After thoughtful deliberation, the Board has approved that we engage in the UUA search process for a 2-year Interim Minister. Note that Interim Ministers typically sign a 1-year contract with an option to renew if the congregation and the Minister agree. Our Interim Minister Search Committee has recently met, received their charge from the Board, and is ready to begin this very important work.

Please be sure to take a look at the Listening Sessions Summary Report which provides themes that surfaced during the Listening Sessions, insights from our UUA partners, Ministry recommendations, and a general timeline of the next steps. Board members, as well as several members of the Interim Minister Search Committee, will be hosting an in-person open session on Sunday, March 13th from 11:30-12:30 following the service if you’d like further details or have any questions. Register for this event HERE.

Thanks again to everyone who’s been involved in our journey to this point. In many ways, we’re just beginning on our road to transformation. We’re looking forward to continuing this journey with the entire congregation as we continue to move forward.
