Over the past weeks, COVID numbers have greatly improved. As a result and following the recommendation of our ROC-19 Task Force, your Board of Trustees is very happy to announce that “masks optional” has been approved at UUCW in services, church meetings, and RE classes starting Sept 1st. This is based on our ROC-19’s current information from the CDC and the Wisconsin Department of Health. Covid levels for Waukesha and Milwaukee are currently at medium level. With medium or low levels it is safe for choir and congregation singing.
A few important points:
● Anyone who chooses to continue to wear a mask is free to do so. We will continue to have masks available in the foyer.
● We will retain our multi-platform virtual services and educational opportunities for those who are not comfortable meeting in person
● Our ROC-19 Task Force will continue to monitor all sources of information in case the need for another change arises. You would be notified of that change in the Weekly E-News.
We remind you that no one should visit UUCW, masked or otherwise, who has symptoms associated with COVID, the flu, or other respiratory illnesses. We also highly encourage you to get vaccinated and receive the boosters as they become available.
Thank you to our ROC-19 Task Force, including Stephanie Wahlen, Kal Larson, John Meurer, Scott Kopischke, and Cathy Boerner for their time, dedication, and thorough research in guiding us and helping to keep us safe over the past two ½ years. We are thrilled to FINALLY be able to see each other’s smiles and sing out loud!
Here are the Individual Prevention Steps recommended by the CDC based on the three levels of low, medium, and high.
