The UUCW Adult Choir had its first in-person rehearsal in more than two years on April 14, 2022. Attending were Hayley German Fisher, Kurt Gaetano, Almuth Soffee, Barb Pfarr, Caryl Sewell, Karen Engelking, Polly Ellingson, Colleen Gresk, Jim Fischer, and Music Director Ruben Piirainen. The choir will meet also on the next two Thursdays at 7 pm in preparation for an appearance at the May 1 worship service. There is still time to get in on the musical fun — interested singers may come to the next two rehearsals in order to sing on May 1.
Although this is the first in-person rehearsal we have had in a very long time, the choir has remained active throughout the pandemic. Every Tuesday at 7 pm a group of choir members meets via Zoom for conversation, musical discussion, and modified music rehearsals. The choir, with the assistance of video editor extraordinaire Hayley German Fisher, has produced over 20 performance videos for use in UUCW worship services during the pandemic. This group will continue to meet until the end of this church year, and we are always happy to welcome new people to the ranks — just contact Music Director Ruben Piirainen.
