We are blessed to live in a part of the world with abundant freshwater. Many of us enjoy Wisconsin’s summertime by visiting one of our thousands of inland lakes or rivers. But these invaluable places are under threat from invasive species, over-development, farm runoff, and most incessantly, climate change. Over the next three months, check out this column for information and ideas about what you can do to restore and preserve Wisconsin’s freshwater legacy.
If you have ideas to share or would like to write one of the weekly columns, please contact Earth Ministry committee chair, Rob Zimmerman.
The Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts has great information on the projected effects of climate change on Wisconsin’s lakes. Download it and share it with others who love our lakes.
