Black Lives Matter Reflection/Action Group Meeting
Saturday, September 14, 9:00 – 11:00 am
We hope you’ll join us for this drop in discussion group focused on learning about how we can be active as individuals and congregation members in anti-racism work. At this month’s meeting, we will watch a presentation from the 2018 UUA General Assembly on The Power of a Spirit of Expectancy by Ms. Brittany Packnett, an educator, organizer, writer and speaker, who is a sought after voice for social change at the intersection of culture and justice.
In this inspiring presentation, she challenges us as UU’s to think about our expectations and responsibilities for creating an inclusive beloved community by dismantling the white supremacy culture in our congregations and society at large. Following the presentation we will discuss the implications of her message for our work at UUCW to dismantle white supremacy culture within our congregation and beyond. For questions or to get on the email list for regular announcements about the Black Lives Matter Reflection/Action group, contact Ann Heidkamp.
