Butterfly Walk

July 24th, 2021

Nature lovers of all ages are invited to join Sarah Frey and Dennis Wanless for a fun and informative Butterfly Walk on the Monarch Trail.
Learn about the monarch butterfly’s epic migration and see one of their local stopover points near the County Grounds Park in Wauwatosa. Location map available here.
If there is no parking open along Discovery Pkwy, then park in the ABB lot. Please meet us at the trailhead at 9 AM. Look for the blue bubblr bike rack to know you are at the right place.  Trailhead is across the street from the bike rack. See map.
Wear good shoes appropriate for walking an uneven path, possibly long pants, and possibly long sleeves to protect oneself from a few thistles. The trail is narrow.

You will learn about:

  • Development stages of the Monarch from egg to butterfly.
  • Habitat plants and trees.
  • Migration route – Milwaukee to Mexico and back.
  • Treasure Hunt challenge.

See you on the Monarch Trail!
