Earth Ministry Movie Night

Friday, January 27th

Come join Earth Ministry on Friday, January 27 at 6:30 for community, conversation, and a special movie.

In lieu of a potluck, we ask that you bring your own dinner. We will show the film two short inspirational films: “The Man who Planted Trees”, which won the Academy Award in 1988 for best animated short. It tells the story of a solitary shepherd who patiently plants and nurtures a forest of thousands of trees, single-handedly transforming his arid surroundings into a thriving oasis. This is a film of great beauty and hope, and the story is a remarkable parable for all ages and an inspiring testament to the power of one person.

Our second short film “24 Hours of Reality: Field Report – Kenya’s Greenbelt Movement”
The Green Belt Movement is an indigenous grassroots organization in Kenya that empowers women through the planting of trees. It is one of the most effective and well-known grassroots organizations addressing the problem of global deforestation.
