Emergency Response Training

Sunday, June 26th

The Safety and Security Task Force is offering Emergency Response Training for the UUCW community and you are invited! The purpose of the training is to teach how to identify and react to an Active Assailant event.  While we recognize that the occurrence of intruders who mean harm and active shooting events are not common, it is important to have a plan and be prepared. Topics covered include situational awareness, detecting and responding to suspicious activity, understanding your response to crisis, civilian response to a violent intruder, and personal safety. The instructor will be Ari Friedman of ISB Security who is widely known as a local expert on this topic.

The following groups are strongly encouraged to attend, but all are welcome: Board Members, Ushers, Greeters, RE Instructors, and Staff. (Class capacity is 30 people. We would love to fill this class up!)

The training will be held on June 26, 2022 after service at 11:30. Training lasts about 2 ½ hours.

Lunch and snacks will be provided (if you have dietary restrictions, please let Vicki know).

We apologize for the short notice, but the FEMA grant that is funding this training ends soon.  To register email Rosie Kapp by Friday, June 24.
