Reparations are broadly understood as compensation given for an abuse or injury. Even more so, they are a process of repairing, healing, and restoring a people injured because of their group identity and in violation of their fundamental human rights. They are a demand for justice and a principle of international human rights law. But beyond advocating for large-scale reparations enacted by government, we, too, can be part of making reparations.
