We do our best to create a peaceful and welcoming community. Unfortunately, places of worship and other public venues are not immune to threats from dangerous intruders. The UUCW Safety and Security Committee is hosting two events for the congregation to learn what to do if the unthinkable happens.
David Melby, Protective Security Advisor at Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, will present strategies to prevent and react to threats:
- The Power of Hello
- Diffuse the Intruder
- Run, Hide, Fight
Follow-Up Training Opportunity:
UUCW Active Threat Protocols
Sunday, February 8
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
UUCW Sanctuary
The Safety and Security Committee will facilitate a session about UUCW protocols, including lockdowns, evacuations, and other options when there is an active threat.
All are welcome to attend one or both sessions! Attendance is especially important for the Emergency Response Team (Board Members, Greeters, Ushers, Staff, and Safety and Security Committee).
Register HERE for either training and indicate need for childcare or special accommodations.
