Join Earth Ministry for a Letter-Writing Party

UUCW’s Earth Ministry is requesting your involvement in this letter-writing campaign that the UUMFE (UU Ministry for Earth) is partnering with the UU for Social Justice (UUSJ).

During the Spring for Change: A Season of Sacred Activism, we are asking our U.S. senators to address climate change by taking action to phase down the production and replace one of the most damaging “super pollutants” — hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), powerful greenhouse gases with vastly more heat-trapping capacity than carbon dioxide — with safer alternatives. This would in turn spur innovation and create new jobs. We are asking senators to vote for the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2019 (S.2754), which proposes a framework to reduce hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 85% over 15 years. For more information about this action, click here.

If you are interested in “attending” a letter-writing party and gathering more information about this issue, UUSJ and UUMFE are hosting an event on Friday, April 24 at  2:00 pm as part of the Earth Day Live 2020 interfaith online convergence for climate justice.
