Transparent – Transgender Topics Panel

Loading Events

Please join the Rainbow Connection group as we host a panel discussion on transgender experiences. This is also another opportunity to show up for UUCW and represent our congregation with Jill, the ministerial candidate. She will be attending this Rainbow Connection event that night.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between gender and sex? Have you heard terms related to the transgender community that you don’t understand, but were too afraid to ask for fear of sounding ignorant, or being disrespectful? Terms like: AFAB, cis male, non-binary, or agender? Do you struggle to understand what is going on?

Now is your chance to engage in respectful dialog on that topic with three transgender panelists representing three generations: Gen Z, Millennial, and Gen X. They have graciously volunteered to share first-hand accounts of their experiences, and answer questions. The panelists look forward to increasing general awareness, education, understanding, and acceptance. Let’s show our panelists that we stand behind our mission statement on inclusion.

We are a welcoming, multigenerational congregation, diverse in culture, experience, and belief, celebrating the “inherent dignity and worthiness” of all people. We commit to empowering and enhancing “everyone’s participation, especially those with historically marginalized identities.” When each person flourishes, our community flourishes.

RSVP is requested but is not required. Contact Marjorie May if you have any questions.
