Valentine’s Day is a time when we show the ones we love just how much they mean to us. From our partners to our best friends, classmates to coworkers, and family members near and far, this holiday has evolved into a yearly reminder to let the people we love hear it. Join us in spreading that love by sending Valentines and small caring gifts to those who could use an extra smile in our church community during this isolating time.

SIGN UP HERE BY FEBRUARY 7th

You are invited to participate as a Giver and/or as a Receiver.

Valentine Givers write a note of love and support in a Valentine, either a homemade card or a store-bought card. Place it in a gift bag with a small present and/or treat (see list of suggestions below). Drop off your Valentine gift bag at the church on Tuesday, February 9th between 9 am and 6 pm. Volunteers will then deliver your gift between February 12 – 14 to a Valentine Receiver. You will not know who received your offering, but they will know the gift came from you!

Valentine Receivers sign up to give your fellow UUCW members and friends the chance to share some love and support with you! A gift bag with an added UUCW tag will be delivered to you between February 12 – 14 which will include the name of the giver (so you may thank them if you wish).  Please don’t be shy about signing up as a receiver – giving someone the chance to cherish and appreciate you is one of the BEST gifts of Valentine’s Day!

Guidelines and Suggestions for Valentine Givers

Please include 1-3 items from the list below or come up with your small gift ideas:

  1. Your words of love and support are the most important gift. All bags should include a Valentine message – either homemade (ideas here) or store-bought card, or a coloring page (print from here) – with your name. If you wish, you can include your mailing address so the recipient can send you a thank you reply.
  2. Prepackaged candy or cookies (sorry, no home-baked treats allowed due to COVID restrictions)
  3. Word–search or puzzle book
  4. Tea or cocoa
  5. Notecards
  6. Lip balm
  7. Scented lotion or soap
  8. Small craft kit or coloring book
  9. Hand sanitizer

Please complete the survey by Sunday, February 7th to indicate if you would like to give a gift, receive a gift, or help deliver the gift bags. All gift recipients will remain anonymous unless they choose to be known. Contact Vicki Banville if you have questions or need to make special drop-off arrangements.
