Sunday “Play” Social Hour

June 27th, 2021

Come gather outdoors at UUCW for our “Sunday Socials” offering opportunities to celebrate our summer themes of learning and spiritual growth. Reunite with members and friends and enjoy a cool drink with Rev. Suzelle, Rev. Denise and/or Dave Cicero, Director of Lifespan Religious Education while participating in fun activities for all ages.

Sunday Socials will take place in either the East parking lot or the grassy West side of the church outside the West doors. Times vary for each social, so check the UUCW website calendar. Watch your weekly-e-news for North Ave. construction and parking guidance.

PLAY – June 27 – 10 am to 11 am followed by the General Assembly Worship Service viewing outdoors!
Play is the most powerful tool of childhood, the tool we use to make meaning of the world we are growing into. Join us for games and fun to practice remembering we can write our own rules; restore our freedom and return to joy.  After the social hour, enjoy viewing the Sunday Service from the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly outdoors!

*Social distancing and mask requirements will follow CDC and UUCW’s ROC-19/Re-Opening after COVID-19 Task Force guidelines.

Summer RE 2021 — This month’s theme is PLAY, and is all about giving ourselves a break. As a people of the world, we will be carrying the stress of the previous pandemic year for a long time. One of the best ways to process the extra energy (angst, tension, fret) of chronic stress is through play. For a collection of ideas for incorporating play into your home life, view the Soulful Home packet. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents to help make summer RE events a success, contact Dave Cicero, LDRE.
