United Methodist Lay Minister Lisa Jones shares her stories of justice-seeking and justice-making with us today. She is a teacher, communicator, preacher and advocate especially on the racial justice issues surrounding police violence and mass incarceration. She is Co-Chair of Rid Racism Milwaukee and a Core Team member of Uplifting Black Liberation and Community (UBLAC), two groups that work to promote racial justice for everyone, as well as past leader of the Conversations on Race program. She was appointed by the Milwaukee Common Council to work on the Department of Justice report to resolve the issues around policing in Milwaukee. Her motto is “if you want to see the change be the change, silence and inaction is not an option.”
