In this Advent season where longing rises from stillness and courage, where do African Americans stand in their long wait for Racial Justice? Why does the Black Lives Matter movement require White America to continue to examine itself? How has white privilege contributed to African Americans feeling they are still fighting the Civil War on some level? The battle they are engaged in is not going to end because of a presidential election, but only when people’s minds and hearts unite in a spirit of justice, harmony, equity, and genuine love and acceptance.

About Our Guest: Rev. Ballew is an ordained minister in the Congregational Church and spent 20 years in parish ministry. Rev. Ballew is now semi-retired and serves as a Chaplain at Hope Christian School in Milwaukee.
