Hi everyone! I am very happy that the Rev. Denise Cawley joined the ministry team at UUCW this week. I have known Denise for many years, and especially in the past five years as she worked her way through Meadville Lombard Theological School, our Unitarian Universalist seminary in Chicago, and as she has served congregations in the west as a “remote minister” this past year. Rev. Denise will join me in leading worship on Sunday, and we hope you’ll join us for a “virtual lunch hour” on Tuesday, March 16 from noon to 1 pm.

As you know, team ministry isn’t new for UUCW. Rev. Lori Hlaban and Rev. Joyce Palmer served with me as our past Assistant Ministers, and now-Rev. Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson was our Intern Minister. We are doing team ministry in a new way, though, since my schedule will be three-quarter time instead of full-time. Let me confess that part of the purpose of this new approach and schedule for the rest of 2021 is to help me rejuvenate after a tiring, stressful pandemic year! But I do love working as part of a ministry team because it affords all of us – congregation members, staff, and leaders – additional perspectives, gifts, and strengths.
