Hello, friends!

My late wife Nancy, and I joined UUCW with our children Meredith (9 years old), and Cooper (6) in 2006. Our goal was to find people who were against the war in Iraq, and to raise our children into the values of valuing diversity and treating others (all others) with respect and love. As a high school math teacher, I shared my skills by teaching RE for 8 years. I enjoyed two separate trips to Nicaragua to build homes with Meredith and Cooper.

I served on the 2020 Long Range Plan committee and during a three-year term on the Board helped run a very successful Capital Campaign for many building repairs and improvements, including our wonderful elevator. We can do this! What comes next… we can do this together! I also served on the Membership and Nominating committees. This go round, I look forward to reconnecting with UUCW friends during live worship and programs. I also have decided to go deeper into myself to grow into all of the UU national values. I have started a 5-month course “Beloved Conversations” to understand racism, and white supremacy culture and to better myself as I reach the next stage of life!

Join me at church to strive for the best in all of us,

Larry Hawley
