Black & Pink is a national organization of open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. They work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people.

The UUCW First Service Middle School “Call to Justice” Religious Education Group has coordinated a Giving Tree in the church lobby that will be up from November 25, 2018 to January 6, 2019 to collect items that will support and sustain Black and Pink Milwaukee Chapter’s letter writing events throughout the year. These items include:

  • Pens
  • Stationary/Envelopes
  • Notecards/Envelopes
  • Postage Stamps

The Black & Pink MKE holds letter-writing events that are open to the public. Letter-writing events are offered 6-8 pm, 1st Wednesday and 1-3 pm, 3rd Sunday of each month at Milwaukee Public Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Black &Pink MKE also provide support to family members of incarcerated folks in visiting their loved one in prison, host art shows of work by those incarcerated, and network with other organizations. For more information, visit http://www.blackandpink.org/chapters/milwaukee/
