Dear UUCW members and friends – We never dreamed of a virtual Christmas, did we? Yet here we are, and our UUCW community is as wonderful as ever. Thank you for the many ways you have contributed to the well-being of our church and to one another’s spiritual support over this challenging pandemic year.
On behalf of our full Board of Trustees, I want to wish you safe and restful holidays. May there be joy to make your hearts sing (and by the way – our Christmas Eve services will certainly offer lots of that!). May there be peace to inspire you to deep reflection. And may your compassionate heart reach out to your friends, family, and the neighbors in our wider community to share your gifts of service, action, and support.
As you consider the end of 2020, we also hope you’ll consider making a year-end financial gift to the church. Pledge year 2020-21 statements were mailed recently – we are so grateful to all of you who have fully paid your fiscal year pledges already, and our hearts go out to all who have lost jobs or income this year due to COVID-19. Without Sunday in-person services, our financial giving to UUCW has taken on different patterns – but we still depend on you, our members and friends, for the funds the church needs to operate, pay staff, offer virtual religious education, worship, groups, and activities. Thank you!
With warm holiday blessings,
Laurie Boddie, President
