Dear fellow UUCW Members,

Every year the nominating committee is tasked with creating a slate of member candidates for the board of trustees, the endowment committee, and the nominating committee. That slate of candidates will be brought before the congregation for election at the annual meeting this spring. We ask all of you to strongly consider the opportunity to be a part of the leadership and governance of this community – a community that means so much to us all.

To say UUCW is in a state of transition is an understatement. We are currently in a transition from our beloved long-term minister, Rev. Suzelle Lynch, into a one- or two-year period with an interim minister. This is on top of nearly two full years of disruption forced upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we go through a process of renewal, rebuilding, and calling a new long-term minister, the nominating committee believes we would benefit from having a slate of candidates representing the wonderful diversity of our congregation.  To that end, we welcome all interested persons to contact us.  We also believe that there could be great benefit to the congregation and the overall stability of UUCW if we bring back one or more candidates for the board of trustees who have familiarity with the organizational structure of the church and a longer-term understanding of our community as a whole. To that end, we welcome any past members of the board who would be willing to serve during all or part of this transitionary time to contact us.

Over the next several weeks, the nominating committee will be personally contacting individual members of the congregation to fill the positions on the board and the other two aforementioned committees. Your gifts, talents, and time are welcomed and very much needed.  Even if you don’t contact us, we may contact you!  Regardless, we ask that you give strong consideration to the opportunity to serve UUCW.
