A team of UUCW volunteers cleaned Lincoln Creek, near 54th Street and Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee. UUCW Earth Ministry Team sponsored cleanups at this location in 2018 and 2019, too. Because there wasn’t a river cleanup in 2020 due to Covid, the area was in real need. There were lots of plastic bags and packaging that clearly had been in the river for a long time. UUCW members, along with others working the site, removed around 20 large bags of trash, plus assorted bulky items from the creek.

Volunteers included: Ann Deahl, Juliann and Kurt Gaetano, Almuth Soffee, Steve and Sarah Frey, Mary Ross, Mark Steinberg, Therese Dineen, and Karen and Rob Zimmerman.

If any members weren’t able to attend, please note that we’ll be cleaning our portion of Underwood Creek this Saturday, May 1st at 9:00 a.m.  The location is on the west side of Pilgrim Parkway, between Gephardt Road and North Avenue.

If you have any questions, please contact Earth Ministry Team chair, Rob Zimmerman.
