Many thanks to the over 62 people who participated in our 7 recent Ministerial Transitions Listening Sessions!  Thank you……for honestly sharing the impact that UUCW has made in your life; for your vulnerability in sharing your heart’s desire for our community; for courageously sharing your struggles with what can be involved in being a church community; for deeply listening and honoring one another even when someone else’s perspective was very different from your own; and, overwhelmingly, for sharing your love and commitment to UUCW.  It was an honor and a privilege to hold this sacred space with you.

So, where do we go from here? We’ve compiled the notes from all of the Listening Sessions and surfaced themes and trends from your comments.  We’ve also begun sharing this information with our UUA partners in the Transitions Office and with our Regional Staff to help us discern our preferred ministry option(s) as we move forward.  Based on your valuable input from the Listening Sessions and guidance from our UUA partners, we’ll be presenting a summary of our findings with recommendations for the Board to consider during the February 24th Board Meeting.  During that meeting, the Board will discuss, then vote, on a preferred ministry plan for 2022-2024. Once the Board has received the Listening Sessions Summary during the February meeting, we’ll share this report with the congregation.

As you know, we’ve also been seeking members for the Interim Minister Search Committee.  I’m excited to announce that the Board unanimously approved the following congregants to serve on the Interim Minister Search Committee:

  • Jeannie Baker
  • Kathy Bradshaw
  • Dave Feil
  • Natalie Fleury
  • Ahmad Perry (Board liaison)

A huge thank you to each of these folks for their willingness to embrace this important work!  The Search Committee will meet at the end of February to review their accountabilities and commitments, debrief the Listening Sessions Summary Report, and understand the ministry needs, criteria, and expectations the Board has articulated.  Their work will begin in earnest in March, and we’ll soon be able to share a more detailed timeline with you on the next steps.  Look forward to hearing more from this critical team in the near future.
