Over the past decade our UUCW Social Action Council has been powerfully engaged in more than a dozen social justice issues and projects.  This group of leaders has worked hard to offer UUCW members and friends opportunities in five areas across the spectrum of justice work: education on issues, direct service activities; advocacy for change; public witness; and participating in community organizing for systematic change.  Issue areas have included racism, climate justice, peace, environmental sustainability, poverty, LGBTQ+ rights, prison reform, voting rights, hunger and more.  A majority of our members and many of our teens and children have engaged in our Social Action work.  There’s lots to be proud of – and lots of ongoing opportunities – including opportunities for leadership.
