UU Church West’s “Split the Plate” program is one of outreach and generosity. Each month we give half of all undesignated offerings to a non-profit organization, to help us live our Unitarian Universalist values and serve our community.
Our Split the Plate partner for November is Meta House in Milwaukee.
The Meta House’s mission is to end the generational cycle of addiction by healing women and strengthening families.
Meta House provides comprehensive addiction treatment that empowers women to thrive in recovery. Each woman’s experience and life circumstances are unique, so the Meta House treatment plans are individualized to address those specific concerns. With the support of their talented and compassionate clinical team, they help women build upon their strengths to establish a path forward in recovery.
The supportive services Meta House provides include case management, vocation and education services, and therapy for substance use as well as co-occurring mental health problems such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.
Their goal goes beyond helping women achieve lasting sobriety. They work diligently to end the generational cycle of addiction by strengthening family bonds, increasing parental involvement, and supporting the physical and emotional needs of children.
