UU Church West’s “Split the Plate” program is one of outreach and generosity. Each month we give half of all undesignated offerings to a local non-profit, to help us live our Unitarian Universalist values, pursue the goal of Social Justice, and serve our community.

Our Split the Plate partner for mid-July through August is MICAH, suggested by Ann Heidkamp and Joyce Cable, who have worked with MICAH for years as part of the Social Action Committee.  MICAH was the founding member, in 1988, of WISDOM, the statewide network of faith-based organizations that is well-known to most UUCW members. They are committed to training and empowering ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

MICAH has eight major programs: Coalition on Lead Emergency, Criminal Justice & Prison Reform, Education, Health Equity, Jobs & Economic Development, Racial Equity, Transportation, and We All Belong.  Each one is well described under the “Our Work” tab on their website micahmke.org.
