Brenda Gerski is an enthusiastic new member to the UUCW and the Unitarian Universalist Faith. Brenda has lives in New Berlin for the past 10 years with her husband, Pete, and two daughters, Adalyn (11) and Violet (9). Brenda grew up in Greendale while her husband spent his youth in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Brenda graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2004 with a degree in Food Science. After practicing in her field for 7 years, she decided to stay home with her daughters. In 2014, she started her own small business which she runs currently.

Although Ellen Newbauer will be stepping away from the leadership role of the pantry, she will continue to provide guidance to Brenda as she learns all the details of her new position. UUCW is very appreciative of Ellen’s tireless dedication to the mission of the food pantry and making all of us aware of the needs of those less fortunate in our community.

Be sure to thank Ellen for her years of hard work with the Food Pantry program and give a warm welcome to Brenda and her family as she fills this important role. If you have any comments or questions about the Food Pantry, contact Brenda Gerski.

For the months of March and April, UUCW will support the Milwaukee Homeless Veteran Initiative. Founded and run by veterans, the Milwaukee Homeless Veteran Initiative provides services for homeless and at-risk veterans and helps them maintain their highest level of independence. MHVI offers unique programs to fill the gaps and don’t duplicate what others do. When possible, they partner with the Veterans Administration, Wis. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, County Veterans Service Officers, and other non-profit agencies. Since 2008, MHVI has served thousands of veterans and their families in Southeastern Wisconsin.
